Old stitching problem

Postby coollatex » Tue 6. Jan 2009, 08:31

Hello,

I have a practical problem with Miss Sixty trousers (black, made with cotton + PU):
I was removing some stitching from the trousers, but now - obviously - the thread holes
are visible. It is a minor issue, but I'd like to make them disappear.

Do you know if e.g. I use a tiny rounded tip hot iron and touch the holes is it possible
to locally 'melt' the PU around each hole and get a smoother look?
It won't be perfect but would that look better?
I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks for helping reviving an old Nickolas ;)

I would not do this! The material is very sensitive to heat.
At the end the hole becomes bigger, and then... #-o

;)

Ok, then no heat :)
Any other idea? Some wax/paste that can fill the holes, perhaps?

I had this problem on my yakima leather pants.
the front stitching on the leg started to go out i made another stitching over it so it would not get any bigger.
hardly noticable.
